On Saturday, June 29 we had our annual Tea Party Mini Sessions. It was so much fun. We had 20-25 minute sessions with 2-5 girls at each party from 9 am-12 pm. They showed up decked out in tutus, ruffles, frills, buttons, bows and all kinds of jewels.
We decorated the backyard under the big Mulberry tree with vintage quilts. Thanks to my friend, Jana McDonald for loaning two of her family heirloom quilts. They were so colorful and bright and made great backdrops. We hung tea cups from the canopy by tying them with lace trim. We also used colorful bunting that I found on etsy.com last year.
On the porch we used my favorite prop…the little settee that we found in the alley and had recovered in quilts.
We served strawberries, bananas, pink strawberry wafers, iced animal cookies, pink rose cupcakes from DJ’s Cakes in Odessa and pink lemonade.
The dainty ladies loved serving each other from the real china tea pot. They were so cute posing with the old vintage phone. some of them didn’t know what it was. So funny. And it is always brings a smile to see them try on the old vintage hats loaded with flowers. I have picked these up at different Antique shops. Most of them I found at Roswell Antique Mall, Roswell NM.
Our dear friend, Grace McDonald came for the whole morning to serve, reset the table and greet the guests. Thank you so much Grace. You have a gift of serving and you do it with such grace. (pun intended) We love you girl.
And of course, I must thank, Larry for bringing his charm and gifts to the tea parties. We tell the girls to call him Poppy. Once when he went inside for a moment, little Kynzie said, “Where’s grandpa?” So sweet. Just made him smile.
