I am so, so, so, excited to offer this retreat. It has been a dream for a while. Grace Creates is for women. Grace Creates for women who need a a little time for themselves. It is a place for you to create, get to know other women, hear God’s Word taught in a refreshing way and spend some coveted quiet time alone and stare at a West Texas sunset. All the details are below.
My sweet friend, Meagan Rotan approached me this year with an amazing offer that I just could not resist. She has written a book and graciously asked me to pray about illustrating for her. So, I have been working diligently to capture the words that Meagan has penned to the pages. We will be telling you all about this project at Grace Creates.
We are looking forward to staying at the Red Barn Ranch in Wolfforth, TX (near Lubbock TX). We have already had some good laughs and hugs with the host, Margaret Sessums. Can’t wait to get to know her better and taste her home-cooking. Margaret is kind enough to cater to your dietary needs. Please email me firstname.lastname@example.org if you need low carb or gluten free meals.
Her cinnamon rolls look heavenly! And my understanding is that she is quite the quilter. There is even quilt shop on the premises.
Natanya Sullivan will be blessing us with her creativity in the art form of worship and dance. I hear she is ahhhhmazing!
Board and Brush, Nick and Heather Tallman, is a trending DIY wood sign shop. We will be attending one of their classes on Saturday afternoon in Lubbock. Check out the gallery here and choose your design. There are so many great choices (I know, it’s a tough decision) After registration I will email you to get your choice so Nick and Heather will be prepared for us.
Rhonda Elder is an artist and photographer. She has a love for Jesus, family, vintage markets, and art is her therapy.
One of her greatest passions is to invest in the spiritual walk of women. She has taught and written Bible studies for over 30 years. She has spoken at many women’s events (Teen Challenge, Women’s Aglow, Women’s Ministry). Several years ago, she opened a home studio and teaches Bible Journaling, canvas painting, and mixed media. Currently, Rhonda is illustrating a delightful book written by Meagan Rotan.
She has had a dream for a long time to host a craft weekend for women to step away from the daily grind and step into a girl’s getaway – where Grace Creates!
Meagan Rotan currently lives in Seminole, TX with her husband and three children (2, 3, 4 y.o.). She graduated from Texas Tech in 2010 with a doctorate in Physical Therapy. It was at this same time that Meagan began surrendering her entire heart to Jesus which led her to serve multiple Christian missions agencies and volunteer regularly with her local church. In the last 7 years of balancing family, work and ministry, she has written two books and desires to see people find abundant freedom in Jesus.
Natanya Sullivan has always had a passion for God, and has often used music and dance as a way to honor him. She first began dancing with Christ in the Arts at age 13. She continued to be involved with the company even after graduating, both as a performer and as an instructor for the younger aspiring dancers. Throughout high school Natanya also took classes and performed with Ballet Lubbock, and even trained with Ballet Magnificat at their summer intensive in Mississippi. Natanya’s passion for music led her to pursue a degree in Music at Texas Tech University. During her time there, she continued to cultivate her natural gifts and love for dancing by electing it as her minor. Natanya has performed dance on multiple continents, and has used her talent as a ministry tool in the church, in the community and on the mission field. Even though the last several years have left little time for it, dancing is still something she is quite passionate about, and she even got her husband to take ballroom dance lessons with her! Putting her musical skills to work, Natanya also spent 2 years volunteering as a worship leader at the Lubbock House of Prayer, at her church’s college group, and at various conferences held at her church. Creativity, no matter what the medium, holds a special place in her heart, and she has a strong desire to see others discover and be set free to pursue the giftings that God has placed inside of them to glorify His Name.
